Just Called Ben Wallace

My answer included a question. Many sentences do that. I’m not prepared to teach you basic English syntax, but maybe someone else here can. :)
It's got fuck all to do with syntax.

Fuck off.
And after that..
Fuck off again.
You're a nasty piece of work. You've done nothing but prove so since you joined.
So fuck off. Whoever you are.
Yeah I know. People who disagree with you are a PITA.

You do realise you'll be up against the fighting techniques taught to him from a young age by his father, inventor of Krav Maga and Ecky Thump?
I suppose it took years for spanner to work out counters to the various techniques their father used as he leaped kato-like from wardrobes or under beds

Yeah but OA has the long reach, my money would be on the big orange hero

According to his wikipedia page he was in the Army for 7 years from 1991 to 1998 so he probably is entitled to wear the medal if the qualifying service is 5 years. Why did you call him? Is he your MP or is just because he's got a smug face?

at least five years’ continuous service until at least February 6, 2012
I read that as your service had to reach 06 Feb 2012, not come before it?

You're right, I read it as 5 years service before Feb 2012 but the rules (which took a bit of searching) say

The Diamond Jubilee Medal was awarded to personnel to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II accession.

To apply for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, you must have:

  • been in effective service on 6 February 2012 and
  • completed a minimum of 5 years’ reckonable service and were enlisted on or before 7 February 2007 and
  • served with the regular, reserve or cadet forces.
It definitely says on and not before so he isn't entitled to wear it as a result of his Army service. It was awarded to others like plod and emergency service workers but he's been an MP since 2005 so it looks like he isn't entitled to wear it.
Tory MP claiming something he isn't entitled too, who'd have thought that eh?

Like I say in my post above

It'd be pretty brazen for someone so high-profile to wear a medal to which they're not entitled. So I'm wondering whether there's some loophole that means he can technically wear it. Maybe by virtue of being a compulsary reservist?
