Just been shouted at by my letting agent.....

This may be reckless advice but it's worked for me on several occasions over much more serious expenses than a ruined duvet.

Threaten to withhold rent to the tune of a replacement if it won't wash out. Technically it's not legal, but I've always found if they know they're at fault they'll stump up rather than pursue it.

If you keep your cool, while dealing with what is not such a serious matter, you will feel better about yourself than if you react in kind.

I was cool, he was the one losing his rag (unprofessional...)

I said I wasn't that angry but that I didn't think paint on my possessions was acceptable. I'm the one who calmed him down!

corporate whore - It was indeed the same bloke. He has offered a replacement if washing doesn't work and I have that in writing (in an email). I will defo ask for a replacement if it doesn't wash, partly to show him I mean what I say when I say it.

Well, it isn't fair to have paint on your possessions, especially when they left the unopened dustsheets on the bed!
