rennie, I was really lucky that my key was in my coat pocket and not in my bag!
Worstthing though is the loss of my bag. It was handmade by my little sis and took her hours to make and was a real labour of love. It was the first bag she'd ever made (she's an apprentice leatherworker) and it's irreplaceable...

You might get it back. When my mum was mugged she found her bag a couple of hours later (minus valuables) in a bin near where the mugging took place...
She was so upset when it happened she started wondering around the area looking in the bins/behind bushes, etc, and she ended up finding her bag!
Someone might spot it and hand it in too...

If anyone sees my bag can they let me know/contact the police (if someone's walking about with it)? Purple leather with a patchwork effect and can fit an A4 binder. It's got two purple leather handles and can be carried under a shoulder. Really, really noticeable. I love it to bits and I'd do anything to get it back.

And if the police do find the bag and keep it for fingerprinting etc. make sure they give you ALL of the reference numbers, both crime number and property identifier. The property store is one of the worst organised bits of the Lambeth Met. On my experience, you'll have to e-mail and phone call them regularly for its return.

I must admit, I don't like being out and about at 7am, but it's the cold and dark that puts me off. I've never felt unsafe. I hope you get your bag back treefrog
