You missed something yes - the demo's have been pretty passionate and the first one at the embassy was quite confrontational too. Really mixed figures in reports but at least 1000 ppl turned up and police had to hold the crowd back. I've seen pictures of a flare and there are reports of stones and debris getting chucked.

Very little is actually posted on PnP nowadays, its a long time since urban75 was seen as a second indymedia.

I also want the attacks stopped but it may not be practical at the moment. A pull back that allows Hamas to regroup may rebound on Israel and . The sad fact is it will only be with the introduction of a large amount of ground troops that effective humanitarian aid can be brought in safely.

I agree that the behaviour of the Left groups and their sucking up to Islamists is a sure fire way of not only losing them yet more credibility, damaging genuine HR based concerns about the Gaza action but is boosting the extreme right in both Israel and the UK.

Tbh, I felt quite an atmosphere of intolerance and if i had had a placard saying 'No to Hamas' i would have felt quite nervous.
