Juno - 2008 comedy featuring Ellen Page and Michael Cera

Any thoughts on the soundtrack? Apparently the moldy peaches had to be courted very hard to agree to provide the music for the opening and closing credits... i think it fitted the film perfectly but i bet their hardcore fanbase wasn't too pleased. Sellouts. ;)

is it moldy peaches? thought it was just kimya dawson. but yeah er sellout. looks to me like the kind of film that would make me physically sick too, i can\'t risk that so i won't see it.

It has at least two Moldy Peaches songs, but one of them not by them. There's also Kimya solo, some Antzy Pants.. sure there's more of her on there too.

im as cynical as they come but i enjoyed it. i avoid any of these schmaltzy films usually, but i downloaded this months ago without knowing anything about it. Worth a look. the opening credits with the peaches are worth a look at least. i think its them anyway.

I can see what you're saying, but I still bought it.

See, Jennifer Garner's character seemed to me a straight copy of Charlotte from Sex and the City.

Actually, lots of bits and pieces of the movie seem somewhat borrowed from other movies, which is why I'm surprised I quite liked it. :hmm:

Yeah she really reminded me of Charlotte in this too. More in looks than character though. I couldn't decide who I hated more in this film - her or her husband! I know we were supposed to see her playing in the mall with a kid and be convinced by how much she'd love the child but I just wasn't. It seemed like it'd be an accessory to her yellow walls.
Loved the film though

Jennifer Garner character was supposed to look like a shallow trophy wife at the outset, but then it turns out that there is more depth to her and that others may not have given her enough credit. If you can't make that leap then I think the ending of the film is rather dreadful, with Juno giving her baby to the wrong person, which I don't think is supposed to be the case.

Garner's character was almost the only one who wasn't speaking from the terminally hip perspective of the writers voice and I thought the films strength was that it allowed her character to grow and that it extended a degree of generosity towards her. If you think that she just wanted a baby as an accessory by the end of the film, then you failed to understand part of the plot IMO.

No I don't think she wanted the baby as an accessory, neither do I think we were meant to think that Juno had given the baby to the wrong person...
I think ultimately I just didn't like her character so it's a personal thing.

Maybe I did miss the point, but films are open to interpretation.

I saw this on Saturday, and it put me in a right good mood - loved it - thought every actor in it was outstanding, even supporting actors Juno's dad and her best pal.

Love Michael Cera too, great things ahead for that lad, his "niceness" just comes right through the screen.

Great soundtrack, and if someone else can name a film, let alone an american one. where Debenhams is mentioned (Belle and Sebastian - Expectations) they win £5

This was an absolute bag of shite. Ive not seen a movie Ive hated so much in a looooooooooooong time.
Nearly every character had "Yeah Whatever" tattooed across their forehead's, I cannot recall seeing a movie with such with such a apathetic bunch of morons ever. Terrible, Im pissed off at wasting 80 odd minutes on this crap.
FFS I hope the average teenager is not as vacuous as this.

Dont waste your time or money.

You're mental

I enjoyed it, it was just right for a Saturday night out, and I'm a total cynic and not at all interested in having babies. Mostly liked the soundtrack too. I was into 70s music when I was 16, but then it was the 70s....nice to see some old favourites namechecked.

I thought I would hate it, and refused to watch it for ages but then was persuaded and I loved it. I turned into a blubbering wreck at the end though, crying my eyes out allover the fucking place. Then bloke got all emotional too. lolz.

Love it, listening to the soundtrack now

ANd for all the "why would Juno like x/y/z?", what you weren't into weird retro oddness when you were a teenager? At all? Good lord....

This was on at The Ritzy on Sunday so I finally saw it having missed it first time round. I thought it was charming and clever, and I loved the soundtrack. Can't believe it took me so long to see it :o

I liked that actress since Hard Candy but man, Juno was annoying and tedious. A big pile of poop.

It's a shame they couldn't afford proper graphics for the opening titles and had to resort to those hand-drawn ones.
