Judges liken terror laws to Nazi Germany

I'm still not seeing an explanation of the logical connection between the Lord of the Flies with judges scenario being described and the anti-terror laws.

Could it be that there isn't one?

Funny that VP,
Ive always thought of you as a bit of a secret fan of mine.
You could never understand my Socialism,VP. Because you believe in "Socialism from Above" and an Intellectual elite.
You dont want the masses in contol, but you would like control of the masses.

What are you? Some kind of anarchist??

Socialism is bullshit but this 'from below' stuff (very revealing psychologically) is even worse.

Your rhetoric about 'masses' gives you away, also.

No not an anarchist (though i do think a lot of their criticisms of trots etc are spot on)
Im a Socialist. To me from below means rejecting the view that Socialism can be imposed from above. To me that is fucked from the start.
My rhetoric about the masses is because i want to see a Socialism for everyone not just the white mc settlers who moved to Brixton etc....

So Kasheem what are you? If you dont mind me asking...

Good point Bernie.

But my point is we need more terror not less. And the high court judges need terrorising as much as possible.
Too often reality TV lets the viewers down. But my plan for "Island Nightmares" would make consistently excellent TV. Especially if i as a true visionary I was responsible for organising it.

Yes, I understand that would be an amusing tv show.

By what logic do you connect this with any justification for the governments anti-terror laws?

Bernie the thing it has to do with is people talking as though the UK judiciary were wise people we can learn a lesson from.
Right wing upper class scum more like......

They're a *possible* bulwark to avail yourself of, and seeing one part of the state criticise the executive is never bad. They're not some knight in shining armour. Your naive idealism and blanket condemnation is rather simple.

not yet convinced of this police state we live in let alone it being like nazi germany ..in fact .. the police have lost control of the streets .. far less of a police state than in the 1950's .. and while i am against ID cards .. really they have all this info anyway .. and most countries have ID cards ..are they police states? and internet and mobiles have created channels outside of state control

and also what do we expect the state to do faced with islamo/animal rights terrorists?? wish them luck?? i saw a figure that hundreds of people were stopped and searched outside the Labour Conference, as some example of this new fascism .. what do expect the police to do???
..

i suspect there are 2 things here
1 .. the judiciary are pissed that they are being out manouvered by politicians .. they hate politicans
2 .. the state playing to the gallery

clearly they are winning the battle re the organised w/c .. but as we have seen so many times .. when people do take action these laws usually dissolve

also what do we expect the state to do faced with islamo/animal rights terrorists??
I expect the state to keep its cool and only take away someone's freedom if it can be proven that someone has commited an actual crime.

The problem I see isn't so much what the gov/cops are doing now, but what they could do if all these powers were really put to use against dissenters.

BTW, can't you see how powers which were introduced to combat "a unique and terrible threat" and have already been extended to the relatively harmless/powerless animal rights militants.
