Joy (the shop) criticised for stocking offensive greetings card..

This is why I'm not on twitter. Millions of numbnuts getting their knickers in a twist about insignifancies while the little that was good about our society is demolished in front of our eyes to little comment.

I made a comment about the behaviour of a female tv character calling her a cow and got the third degree.

Yet people on this thread take the piss out of bipolar and noone bats an eyelid while showering abuse on anyone that responded negatively to the card.

Only on Urban!

Who on this thread has taken the piss out of bipolar? Who has showered abuse on anyone that responded negatively to the card?

It's just so naff and unfunny. Like that guardian tripe about radio 4 and opera. It can't even rise to the level of offensiveness. And then the desperate for a career unpaid interns at the independent convince what's left of what's above them to run this bollocks about something they saw on the internet (as as this authors stories are - or better, amalgams of other existing writing).

It was widely reported, not just by the Independent

Walked up Kingsway the other day and it's all coffee shops and card shops - it's enough to get anyone depressed, what a waste of money and what utter crap... was glad to get on the train

Notice Joy don't make comedy cards about cancer. Cos y'know it's kind of shite to laugh at other peoples suffering. Unless they're mad of course, then it's fucking hilarious.

People with bi-polar syndrome are not "mad" you twat.

see in the back of bizarre magazine they used to sell t shirtsstyled like a band tour t-shirt 'Hitler world tour' with dates and list of invaded places. A t-shirt with shipman in a bandana with the legend 'old dear hunter'

etc.

thats harsh.

It does seem that mental illness is more mainstream fair game though. Maybe it crosses the line because of its specific nature? we here and in the wider world call people loon or mad or whatever but focusing on a specific condition edges it into 'hang on a mo'

Them things were going from the world cup/euro championships years before you were even born. Every open air or covered market.
