now i have not come accross anywhere else mentioning it, or have i not looked properly? and what do others think of it?
i'd be amazed that i had heard nothing prior to today, but......

nothing from a man who was alleged to have thrown paper areoplanes at americans the day after 9/11:rolleyes:

A lot of shit gets 'alleged' these days, especially against chelsea players who everyone seems to hate (presumably due to their heinous crimes of being quite good at football). I honestly can't imagine England's captain acting like this towards a member of his own squad- plus half of chelsea is black so i expect Terry'd have a hard time of it at the bridge if he really hated black players.

Innit where's the proof in all of this?

Actually I think the thing about them jeering at Americans was true. It was Terry, Lumphard and someone else. I remember that at the time, and it was prior to everyone hating CHelski so probably wasn't made up.

Go to youtube...
Find the incident in question...
Watch the reactions of all the black spurs players within earshot (and the strange lack of reaction of mr drogba)

As others have said on the cfc-net forums:

1. Terry and King have been good mates for years
2. If he did this, it would have been a straight red.
3. Eto'o complained about stewards, not Terry.

He wasn't complaining about getting a second yellow. Seems a bit strange considering what a dodgy call it was if it was on the basis of the push on king...

He knew he was off for something he'd said...

You twat. That's alleging a steward made a racist comment. Not Terry.

fair shout - i was googling to try to substantiate some of the 'other instances' that were mentioned in the OP and i got that and skim read & posted - apologies

Maybe the lack of an explanation from the ref says something? ie if Terry had made a racist remark you'd want to check with the FA before saying anything.

I hope he didn't say anything but in the heat of the moment I wouldn't say it was beyond him.

My reaction when watching was "he must have said something", because there was nothing else to it...

We're probably not going to find out what was said, so no real surprise to see the allegations flying about. After all, there's a big conspiracy about Chelsea and everyone's out to get them, remember.

Don't know what to think, really, but Terry normally seems one of the better of the Chelsea lot - not so much a bad loser as the rest and less of a getting-awayer, too.

Ho humm.

The FA's trumpeting about the success of their kick it out campaign will look pretty silly if it does ever come out. When's Poll due to release a report then?

Spurs fans on teamtalk have mentioned this, and zokora is incensed on the replay. Many will look back to zidane, materazzi incident and protest terry's innocence. None of it will come to light with those involved, being, urged to keep the peace. I concur with your last sentence.

I think this is cobblers, to be honest. After the game, Terry was widely quoted as saying that he had no idea what he'd received the second yellow card for. Isn't that just inviting the referee and opposition players to come forward and say, "Well, actually..."? If Terry had said something racist to Ledley King, I suspect he might have kept a lower profile since. He certainly wouldn't have been whining to the papers about it.

Looking at that video, it seems unlikely poll would have heard any remark that had been made by Terry at that point. Fact is the situation which developed on the pitch was unnacceptable and poll was obliged to start showing cards. If he felt that Terry had started the trouble, or made it worse, then the card is justified. Bonus points for Drogba's apparent attempts to calm the situation down- acting in the role terry himself should be taking on in these situations.

I don't know about the situation itself. It's easy to see it either way. A couple of the Spurs players seem to massively overreact to the push, Terry has been bigoted in the past, and I think it would have been easy for Poll to have heard something; but at the same time it's not inconceivable that it's a straightforward yellow for an unnecessary push.

Drogba is interesting though. In the season before he joined Chelsea I remember him being mightily impressive for Marseille. He had skill, strength and authority as a striker, a bit like Shearer at is best. But after a couple of seasons with Chelsea it seemed that he was becoming a bit of a talentless idiot.

I think we are now finally seeing the proper Drogba. An awesomely strong player with some nifty skills and very strong leadership traits. Maybe learning English was initially the barrier to him adapting here. Watching him at the World Cup was a nice surprise. He was playing and leading in the strong and effective manner of which he is capable.

Pathetic.
