I do wonder though whether it will be as negative a campaign if McCain wins - after all, he has been the victim of the same people and the same dirty tricks (in 2000), so its unlikely they would be able to influence things as they did both times with Bush. If Romney wins the nomination, or if they put up an "independent" candidate, expect blood.

How ironic that you would complain bitterly about state money being spent on saving lives but you say nothing when billions of dollars are spent on killing people in other countries.

I just think it's another program that doesn't do what it's supposed to do. In most cases I know of it's more like an insult when it throws a few bucks at you and the medical costs are far more than that. It's only little better than social security which doesn't really exist. It takes foresight to create programs like that. Somebody should have known that there would be more people that need to use it than are paying to support it.

McCain is a terrible hawk and social conservative but is still hated by the hardcore Republicans. You only have to browse Freerepublic to see the ridiculous vitriol about him. This is more to do with the fact he has supported a more lenient immigration policy and campaign finance reforms.

I think the downfall of every Republican frontrunner would be more satisfying if an equally horrible one didnt take their place.

On the Democratic side, Kucinich was head and shoulders above all the rest and as such never stood a chance.
