John Hughes has died

i loved his films - embedded a genre: the american high school movie.

Me too. Easily one of my favourite film makers. One of my most favourite films ever is "Some Kind of Wonderful" that he wrote.

I loved pretty much everything he did pre Home Alone 2, even stuff like Uncle Buck, Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

16 Candles is my favourite comedown/cheer up movie ever. And you can never go wrong with Ferris Bueller!

Here's hoping there's going to be lots of John Hughes films on the telly!

Hurrah! 6 music are playing Pretty in Pink

My favourite Hughes film is the much-overlooked She's Having A Baby. It's less quotable than Breakfast Club or 16 Candles, but it's a more mature film.

He was such a prolific writer - apparently he knocked out Breakfast Club over a weekend.

RIP.

RIP John Hughes.

The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day Off are two of my favourite films (and formed most of my dissertation, so thanks for that too).

May watch one this weekend as a tribute.

'The next time I come in here, I'm cracking skulls!'

I've always wanted to know what the punchline to Bender's joke is :hmm:

Fuck, loved some of his filums.

RIP Hughes.

Yes but now he's gone, he'll never remake Pretty In Pink with the ending how it should be...

Guess I'll have to do it

apparently, some kind of wonderful is sort of a remake of 16 candles, and it was how he originally wanted it to end

Well, it looks like he's on 3rd Sequel contract to Disney, and his Dad and brother (Mart and Charlie) occassionally throw him a bone for their own shows (he played 'Young Jed Bartlett' and 'Andy' in 2 and a 1/2 Men)...
