Joan Rivers outburst on R4 this morning

I had the displeasure to be at a function some time ago where that cunt was in attendance. Didn't meet her but fuck she looked freakish from afar.

The whole programme is still on Listen Again. I've never been keen on Darcus, glad he was challenged for his insinuations but more because this was brilliant enteratinment

Maybe if you'd got closer, you could have based your opinion that she's a 'cunt' on more than just her looks (or not) .

Rivers exploded with fury at Darcus Howe, who had apparently made the suggestion that she found the word "black" offensive (iirc, she had wanted to insist his kids were mixed race" while he used the term "black").
o!

Maybe Joan should simply have suggested darkus finds the words 'mixed race' offensive.

I know very little about Joan Rivers but Darkus Howe always seems to come across as incredibly arrogant.

Thank you so much for posting that! What a rant :D

I have to say though, if someone said that the term 'black' offends me I would probably go ballistic as well. I wish I'd heard what she said to trigger it off, as at the moment I don't know whether Darcus had a point or not.

edit - it was hilarious listening to that on windows media player, with the visuals flashing around in time to Joan's screams. Highly recommended :D

lol@ 'YOU SON OF A BITCH' :D

glad to hear ole joan is still downing a bucketful of gravel every morning before she starts in
:D

Years ago we shared a Green room with Marcus and you are right he was incredibly arrogant.

As to this radio programme....how terribly English (if that is not too racist) the way everyone just carried on afterwards speaking politely but dropping in barbed and hidden venom.

a few of the times i've seen darcus he doesn't seem too interested in opinions that contradict his own. saw him have a right strop on a group of teenagers because they had the gall to argue against one of the points he was making

I just listened to the repeat, but I never heard Joan Rivers say that to Darcus Howe. -I guess they decided to edit that bit out this time... :D

That's the first time I've ever listened to that programme. -Do they always assemble such a diverse bunch of guests? :)

Let's get this point clear.....

Rivers - "You have two mixed race children..."
Howe - "I have two children.."

Favourite bit...

Rivers - "I don't know where you are coming from..."
Howe - (Laughs) "Brixton."

I'd already formed the opinion that she was a cunt long ago. Her extreme vanity simply adds to it.

Mostly and sometimes its a load of middleclass wank to be honest and other times it has snatches of some interesting stuff.

Joan did say SOB and if you want to hear it go to the listen again which was where I found it...it made me laugh out loud and spit tea all over the computer screen....which was incredibly annoying....does anyone know how to clean these flat screen thingies? :o

I think this is what happens when you get mega egos all sitting in a small room together.
I thought Joan Rivers was quite good about Howe's celebration of being a useless father - something that the presenter wasn't as blunt to point out, 'So what you are saying basically Darcus, is that you was a useless father and now your son is involved in crime.' There are many crap dad's out there - but few go on the national media to talk about it. Is he proud of this? Presumably he is because if he was ashamed he would keep quiet.

LOL :D

Okay, I've heard Joan Rivers say "-Sonnovabitch!" now (-via the linked mp3 in gentlegreen's post). The BBC definitely edited out the wuuude word when they repeated the programme last night.

Darcus is so arrogant though, isn't he. He winds me up every time I listen to him, but at the same time, part of me also loves to see him wind other people up a bit. :D

The fact that I'd never listened to the programme before yesterday (-but am now discussing it) does suggest that the producers of that show knew exactly what they were doing when they invited such a predictable clash of egos. ;)

My opinion of Darcus Howe has now been considerably enhanced.
I used to like the fella till he describe my residence thus:
John Major was on the housing committee that approved this block of flats. Not only would I like to see it destroyed, I would like to see it blown up so that the whole of London could see the mushroom of smoke and the flames, so they'd know that its like would never be seen again. From the outside it looks like a prison--I am sure this was in the architect's head when he designed it. I have friends who live there, and I refuse to go round to see them.

What a comedy.

You called me black... yes, you are black... are you a racist... are you calling me a racist... don't call me a racist... will you apologise... I don't use the word black... you called me a racist... ok, you're not a racist...

Listened to it last night, the original point seemed to get lost somewhere
