Jesus Fuck, Eno, What Are You Doing?

I think there was a very similar thread last time Eno collaborated with someone horrible, and the time before that. Face it; he has no taste. He has made some fantastic sounds during his lifetime, but he has serious, serial taste malfunction.

What do people rate as Eno's best productions?

One time he had a phaal and spent the day in the crapper without a tape recorder. Probably his best.

Seriously, Albini has more talent in one piece of tape dropped on the floor than Eno's entire career.

*raspberry*

You won't find a bigger Albini fan than me, but that's toss :p

To continue your fruity flavour, comparing Albini and Eno is like comparing a pumpkin and an orange.

"On Land" is definitely the best ambient album IMO.

And as for his "proggy" stuff it's a toss-up between Warm Jets and Another Green World.

Don't forget he's producing Nick Clegg's upcoming release.

The thing is that rock music is a spent force and will be viewed as a relatively short period in musical history in the future.
So Brian Eno is possibly just working with bands he considers classics of the genre and that while it still exists and like them or loathe them Coldplay might stand the test of time within all that malarky.
<legs it>
:p

So, has anyone actually heard this Eno-produced new Coldplay LP yet?

Unless he's miraculously disposed of all the members of Coldplay and replaced them with the considerably more exciting prospect of killer cyborgs controlled by his thoughts, I can't imagine any reason for expecting it'll be worth checking out. Did James or U2 suddenly become more appealing by his involvement? No, it just destroyed another little bit hope that there might be something sane and explicable about this world we live in.
