Jeremy Clarkson

Opinions on Clarkson aside, does anyone else think that the BBC, as our national broadcaster, has a duty to provide information on local travel outside the realm of the car? Some, like myself, are unable to drive and so a programme providing a critque of our sorry public transport system would be much valued.

I don't drive, consider myself green & left-wing, and yet I still think him & the rest of Top Gear are pretty damn funny. I like his style, I don't think he takes any of it seriously and I think to some extent he does the opposite of what he says. In my limited experience I also find that people who genuinely get upset by him are often, but not always, not really the kind of people I get on with

In other words, I agree with calva!

My extent of knowledge of cars is limited to 'red one', 'blue one' despite years watching Top Gear. I love 'im and his little sidekicks.

he's a prick. He's not a threat or a problem or an iconoclastic hero for the anti-PC brigade either.

just a self-regarding superannuated schoolboy twat

me too;)

He can be quite funny, but is still a tosser.
I like him on the telly but probably wouldn't want to know him in real life. And the feeling would be mutual I'm sure.

Richard Hammond is a different story though...
