He's doing a live performance of it at The Albert Hall soon, unless it's already happened. Can't remember who they've got to replace Phil and Dicky - probably Richie from 5ive and William Shatner

If they had any sense they'd just playback the recording for those two parts.

Rest of it could be live.

Loved it as a kid - that "doon doon dooo - bwiddle ooo bwiddle ooo" at teh start is one of the best breaks in the business. Theres loads of other cool techno sounds too but loads of it is utter shite on a re-listen.

Please tell me there's nobody here who likes this dire crock of bollocks.

It was bad enough at the time but more recently, I have been horrified by the number of serious muso kids who regard this album as essential listening!

Some things are better left back then.

We'll start..............we'll start all over AGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin

It's great.

I have it on CD and though I listen to it rarely, it makes me happy when I do.

The Ooolah's scared the bejesus out of me when I was a nipper and me and Ronnie used to listen to the tape of it late at night hiding under the covers.

In fact, I am sure I have posted a thread about this some time ago.

Missed it, sweets. I saw it last year.

Russell Watson was in it.. didn't realise 'til after that it was him, and was very impressed (didn't like RW up until that point!) I guess he played Phil's part..

The narration was by Dicky, back from the grave..

MAN ON TOP AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only time I've ever heard this masterpiece of musical theatre, I laughed so hard that tears leaked out of my scalp. So not really in a position to criticise something that has brought such joy to an otherwise dull evening.

I live my life by this rule...

There must be something worth living for
There must be something worth trying for
Even some things worth dying for
And if one man can stand tall
There must be hope for us all
Somewhere, somewhere, in the spirit of man

so how many of you immediately feel a bit weepy the moment they hear the beginning of Forever Autumn? :D

Yep *holds up hand* I had a copy in the lush gatefold sleeve with the book. Used to love sitting down and studying the red weed picture.

Bought it again when it came out on the remastered CD and returned it the same day. Utter trash.

5 acid trips and surround sound stereo, thats how it should be listened to :)

FUCK THAT!

It used to scare the shit out of me when I was a lad. I fairly recently bought the abridged version on CD but still not got round to listening to it.

I think Orbital eased the pain by sampling the OoooLaaaa though.

Maybe I will give it a go..... One day.
