The premier league are still sorting out that transfer, a couple of the forms for benjanis transfer didnt go through so they're looking into it. Could still happen.

Why do i get the feeling someone at portsmouth who was in charge of these forms being sent, deliberately didn't send the forms so they could keep bejani and have defoe??

Indeed, Benjani has been quality this year and have always rated Defoe...not world class though will always bang in a few
Interesting to see what that Ecuadorian Citeh have bought is like...loks like a brute, Adriano kinda and that Alaves could be interesting....Woodgate ( if he stays fit ) is the best signing this window IMHO

Alves could be blocked an player banned though...AZ have lodged a complaint with FIFA saying they have a signed deal with him to move in the summer
yeah. it got overturned by a dutch court.

as a Citeh fan I'm not sure of the wisdom of spedning £9M on a 30-year-old who, as has been said above, has had one good half season under his belt.
so, we're left with a 19 year old Ecudorian who played for Basle and a 17-year-old Italian
least we got fucking Dabo out of the club
Defoe's a good player. Has been wasted at spuds over the last few years. A tosser, but could do well with this new move IMO

He's a real hero though. He'll NEVER, EVER stop running at defences, hassling defenders and putting himself about like a lunatic in order to make space. He plays with a smile on his face, rarely gets booked or into handbags with opposition players. He'll applaud the crowd for supporting him, and when he gets motoring you'll be right behind the lad. He's a 100%er all along the front line, doesn't mind getting stuck in in defence or midfield either.
He scores the odd goal, but isn't a goalscorer as such. He's a class above Mpenza and Vassell in the forward play sense, and will give your midfield an outlet for their attacking play.
Best of luck to the big man. He made me cry with relief in 2006 when he scores his first goal for us.

Sounds like we might have a new Goat
And a bit of wheeling-dealing by the board and he's ours now for under £5 mill on a 2-5 year contract (as opposed to the original £9 mill four years) which I think is a decent price given his age.
Bet Portssmouth wish he's caught the afternoon flight to Manchester instead of ariving at 11.15pm.
