James Dyson whines about employment law and corporation tax

i was just about to state that im sick and tired of unaccountable multi billionaires (like Dyson and the Branson et al) lording it and playing fast and loose with our lives but you said it better FridgeMagnet.
unless a man has stake or land in the nation, why then should he have say in the disputations of how the affairs of the land are arranged? #reesmogg

Didn't he whine on about setting up factories, get every grant and tax break to do so here, then fuck off to produce his plasticky crap in the far flung countries where there's no controls on anything.

And his awful hand drier that blasts water metres away and collects festering gunk beneath the mucky sides you always touch. Hard to think of a less hygienic hand drier.

I was at the serpentine gallery the other day and had to deal with this shit

water from the centre, 2 airjets either side. utterly fucking useless, you have to wave your hands about to activate the hot air, triggering the sensors for the tap randomly & rewetting your hands. I used a paper towel in the end

fuck you dyson and fuck your shitty inventions ( £1500 + vat shitty inventions )

Only because they had to halve the power to comply with EU regulations. A cleaner friend recently had to purchase one of the new 620watt ones and has confirmed it's a bit shit.

Meanwhile the EU is still happy for you to buy a car with a 5 litre engine. Which I'm sure has nothing to do with German dominance of the 'stupidly overpowered cars for surplus wankers' market.

I have no experience of this tap and no opinion about it, except that

Joke's on you, cos that's a photo of a Dyson bidet.

Useless left-wingers jealous of someone who mortgaged himself to the hilt to produce stuff that people bought in droves.

He seems to have a problem conforming to any law, regulations etc...
James Dyson's basement swimming pool in his home could land him in hot water | Daily Mail Online
That aside the he really is the most repellent example of the supposedly "self made man" attending a school described as an independent boarding school - translation, Private. Gresham School, founded in 1555 on the ruins of the Augustin Priory, actually run by the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers, a City Livery Company, whose HQ is that large stone building on the north bank, on the left as you cross London Bridge.
Well connected git with no end of schemes to make himself even more "important"
Even his "Engineering College", was based on an attempt to filch money from every single one of us
Dyson design college in planning row
"The school was originally estimated to cost £25m - with half the money donated from the Dyson Foundation and the rest funded by the public. But now Sir James estimates it will cost at least £56m. He remains hopeful that it will open in 2010 as planned, but his advisers say this is "optimistic"."
Luckily....
"James Dyson says he has abandoned his attempt to build a multi-million pound school of design in Bath."
BBC NEWS | England | Wiltshire | Plans for Dyson college scrapped
Instead, he managed this
Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial
Dyson School of Design Engineering

It is not made public how much cash is coming from the massive fees the students pay in order to have this fucking narcissists name al over the thing, nor how little he's stumped up

I'm not jealous, I'm angry that this regulation-dodging cunt wants to make it easier for himself at the expense of people like me and mine. He wants it to be easier to put people out of work and he wants to dodge more taxes in an already lax regime. He's a piss-taker.

That's fucking ridiculous, but then all attempts at combined wetting/drying devices are for pretty obvious reasons.

It looks like something designed to be grabbed with both hands and twisted, like a door handle on a submarine.

You should see the state his Airblade hand dryers get in. All the gunk drips into the sealed bottom and them slowly rots away the material underneath. Disgusting.

If you go to the tip there's always loads of Dysons, so flimsy. Total fucking waste of resources and labour. At least if you manage to kill a Henry you can use the bottom part as a plant pot in the garden.

I wonder if people know how easy they are to strip apart though. I was given one, apparently it's at least 10 years old. Was being a bit shit, but stripped it down and it's sucking like a good one. Which is quite refreshing in this day and age you can actually "service" things your self.

everyones all about not voiding that warranty or if it breaks after warranty assuming it must be dead. I know I am lol

heres a piece of staggering overdesign that had me laughing quite a bit, capitalism at its finest here:

If you follow the Dyson story it's actually a story about how an idealist slowly gets turned into a cynic by the crap British system (crap for manufacturers at least).

Came up with an invention and tried to licence it to existing manufacturers.
They said fuck off, we make a mint in after sales on filters and bags. Why would we want to do that?

Tried to make it in the UK. Couldn't.

Got the Japanese to manufacture it.
Made a bundle.
Could afford to build his own factory and supported the UK by building it here despite the higher costs of manufacturing here.
Tons of copycats sprung up built in cheaper countries. Slowly erodes the advantage of his invention and brand.
Has to bite the bullet and follow suit. Moves to Malaysia.
Moans about stuff like every other capitalist.

I have a nice smiley Henry vac, well powerful, yep has a bag, BUT, it cant be killed. Fling it downstairs, drag in into every hard object you can find, it STILL works. This is my fourth Henry, non were lost due to damage, all were replaced by new Henrys, the old ones;-
One went to a friends daughter escaping the family nest
One went to my next door neighbour - she didn't like " these bright plastic things you get nowadays..."
One to British Heart Foundation
Its is Numatic, the company that makes Henrys, 50th anniversary in 2019, ALL their products are still made in Somerset, HQ and main factory in Chard. Unlike Dyson, they have a statement on the front page of the site of how they go about applying the Modern Slavery Act, something Dyson with ALL of his production moved out to third parties in jurisdictions with poor human rights records may find hard to understand, wonder what the greed cyclone thinks of slavery..
