If they wanted to make Bond gritty and unlikeable like the Daniel Craig one, they should have gone the whole hog and made him such a cunt that he just has to die or he never does, think Bad Santa, an utterly unredeemable person who is a complete disaster for everyone unlucky enough to come across him but you end up warming to because he is even unhappier than everybody whose life he destroys

now those would be great bond films
 
Bond does nothing for me either anymore.
Watched Casino Royal a few months ago for the 1st time and was totally bored by the end of it.

Jason Bourne has well and truly pissed all over Bond's fire.
 
new bond is an emotionless robot, an absolute monster whose only relationship is the one he has with extreme violence.

Much more realistic as an assasin of the state than wisecrackin' gadget having womaniser bond of old

Guns and cars and gadgets are cool. What could be more exciting than shooting people and driving really fast and dangerous while being shot at, killing people with awesome techno gadgets, then doing stunts and stuff on jetskis and snowmobiles, and parachute jumps out of a helicoptrix, and crawling along an aeroplane to hi-jack it, then getting to fuck a sexy woman.

If you dont like that kind of stuff then you're not real men

Isitme's complaint though is that the Bond films now aren't like that...

It's a shame you don't like him. If you did, there are a bunch of movies that you could get a lot of pleasure from.:)

I totally agree. I went to that last one - not the new one. Badly done, shit ending, and no social currency. Nobody cared about those bad guys. I can't even remember who they were. Some guy in an Italian villa. Nothing to compare to Ernst Stavro Blofeld, or Emilio Largo, or Willard F White.

Or Baron Samedi.:)

I liked Bond as a kid.
Especially liked the books.
Still watch them but don't rush to the cinema.

nah, it's just that MGM is going bankrupt and they are trying to sell the studio as a whole before they start selling off individual rights.. iirc Quantom of solace made a load of money (around about $300 million according to IMDB), so you can be pretty sure that if MGM isn't sold wholesale, someone will buy the rights to James Bond and make the one that has been put on hold.
