Jacqui Smith's Husband Porn Subscribtions

Smith is disgusting. Period. She wants us all treated like sex criminals for the ID card scheme. She deserves the misfortune that has come her way , including her sleazy tosspot husband. I expect she was appointed for her mediocrity, she has certainly lived up to it if so.

whats the express saying lol!

eta he he its front page .. though i suspect they leading on the expenses side of it .. were any of the porno channels express ones??

Home Secretary in Porn Shocker

"Ms Smith was not home when the films were viewed, sources told the BBC. She lives with her husband, Richard Timney" :hmm:

"BBC political correspondent, Gary O'Donoghue, said a source told him Ms Smith was "livid and shocked" when she found out about the two adult films. "
;) Yeah Right :D

Hey, dottie! Where you been?

Loads of people been on the missing list the last couple of weeks. Have you all been spring cleaning?

I have been on a booze run to bilboa surrounded by raucous geordies. It's been fun, but I can't seem to get my land-legs back

Be great if you wanted a HoC full of nurses and teachers. But another viw is the Hoc may benefit from a range of professional skills including lawyers, accountants, successful business people, doctors, middlle/senior management, etc - all of whom, at the present time, have to take a pay cut to go to the Commons.

How many bloody lawyers do you want in the house of commons?
They are already ridiclously overrepresented. What about having a parliament that more clearly reflects a representative range of people and opinions not just those of the better off?

This is the 3rd thread on this, but this one spectacularly misses the point. Far more important that Jacqui Smith might have watched some porn (oh noes!) than her claiming for cable TV on expenses.

Twat.

Hangover or mal de debarquement?

I had the latter for about 2 months after spending one night on a boat on a canal.

Spoken like someone who didn't study law as an undergrad.

Really, you think all those HoC lawyers come from privilaged, middle class incomes . . . don't be daft.

Well done mr jacqui smith whatever floats your boat sir, proving your human after all. Its very normal behaviour.
As sex scandals go its pretty shit really, its not even in the same league as the tories depravity.

As a taxpayer, I am pissed off that some of my hard earned money would fund the pornographic habits of the Home Secretary's husband who earns £40,000 per year. AND if she hadn't been investigated due to her housing arrangements, then this would have slipped quietly under the radar.

Considering that she's been doing expenses for several years now, is it common place for us to fund the cable television bills of MPs?

It's not a sex scandal*. It's a financial one. Porn on expenses.

*Not that the papers won't be enjoying that aspect.

Spoken like someone with no bloody idea. Do you think that the vast majority of lawyers come from homes where there parents had a higher education?
What proportion of lawyers went to private schools?

Whats the difference between this and going to the cinema? What do the expenses rules for MPs say? If they allow you to claim a film in your hotel room then they are quite within their rights to do so. Its only a financial scandal if that is explicitly disallowed, right? Do we know if they are.

The Incidental Expenses Provision (IEP) can be used to meet the cost of: accommodation for office or surgery use; equipment and supplies for office or surgery;

Broadband is office equipment; tv isn't.

Yep but who is the mole...who bubbled her up to the press ? Whoever it was nice one cause she did our legs and now someone has done hers !

A women of no honour at all. A politician.

None. Going to the cinema isn't (or shouldn't be) an expense they can claim for either.

it is the mindset of the labour apologist that they will indulge in any amount of obfuscation, semantics and downright bullshit to create a blag for their beloved tribe. Such apologists are scum who would have us all fingerprinted and eye-scanned rather than admit that the party admit to a mistake.

If you think people become MP's for the money we're on diff planets. Anyone mid-career with a proven professional track record has to take a pay cut to go to the Commons.
Bullsh**t. Most of the people I know who have proven professional track records earn less than that. The problem with people earning > 50k in the UK, and especially London, is that they've totally lost track with the reality of what most people earn.

Jacqui Smith said she "mistakenly" claimed for the TV package while billing for an internet connection.

The Sunday Express claims the £67 Virgin Media bill included two 18-rated features viewed last April.

Assuming this was a monthly payment who the fuck pays £67 for internet access?

Yet another politician caught with their nose in the trough claiming it was an error.
