In that case you can be an excellent guitarist. Jack White is an excellent frontman, he's full of charisma, individuality, has massive stage presence, and his voice bonds so well with his style of playing. You could be the most talented guitarist in the world, and not have any of that, but it wouldn't mean you weren't talented. Just like his style doesn't mean he is talented at playing guiatr, because he's certainly talented at being a frontman.

I am a great guitarist already.

Rock brilliance: Johnny Thunders.

The former is utter shite, the latter is what is required of a rock guitarist.

Jack White, thankfully, resides in the latter group. Which is about feeling and attitude.

I am teaching my daughters to play guitar. And yes, Seven Nation Army is one of the first things I taught them. (Not the slide bit yet, but that'll come). If they go on to learn any Joe Satriani I will cut them out of my life; they will be dead to me.

The Raconteurs don't seem to be able to make decent records, for some reason. Which is weird, because whenever they've been live on TV they've been fucking great. Best thing on all the Glastonbury coverage that I saw, by far.

Not a problem the White Stripes have, though. Odd.
