I also rate White above Page, Knopfler or Clapton, simply cos i love the way he makes the guitar sound, but that is my opinion.

I also love Malkmus and prefer him to Hendrix cos i love his riffs, so in my opinion he is better, and i don't care about technical excellence, cos when did that produce the best music? Just about how good the guitar on the songs sounds, and for me no one does it better than Jack White.

The lead in to the riff is a straight rip off Freddie King's the Stumble.
He's a great performer and writer, bit unimaginative, but brilliant.

If you can be bothered watch all of this - proves his mettle here - gets well good at about 1:05 - shows his passion as well - the man's got the blues real bad!
