Plus, the rest of your posts read like bad NME articles. Just a whole load of gushing praise that doesn't tell you anything.
I'm a bit fan of the first 3 White Stripes albums, they raised the bar massively for pop-art bands. But post-Elephant TWS are mediocre at best, with the odd bit of decent stuff poping up with solo projects like the Cold Mountain sound track.

yes, they both are
cheesy - i thought you said you never gave any abuse without someone starting on you first?![]()

many "geniuses" have come from detroit but he's not one of them. as a matter of fact very few over here care about him or the white stripes.

I love Jack White, I think he's great. But genius? Nope.

But everyone in america listens to creed and kid rock so what the fuck to they know?
The term genius is greatly overused these days

why do people keep saying this??? Its a lazy copout IMO. Just because I have used it here does NOT mean its being used lightly.
People are scared of the word genius.
Anyway, I have commented on this already (earlier in the thread). My advice is to just ignore the noise of the outside world and go with your heart.

All of the above confirms to me that 'genius' is a relative term.
Meaning, your heart maynot beat, feel in the way anothers does, therefore your genius may not be mine, and vice versa. That's okay isn't it?![]()

Why did you start this thread then?if people dont agree with me on them, or anything at all, its of little interest to me anyway - i dont care!!![]()
Why did you start this thread then?

It's cos people have different definitions of genius, as Rutita said.
There may be 'universal' agreements of the term cheesy but that doesn't mean we universally agree on all uses of the term 'genius', so in that respect it is relative. That's a good think too IMO because if it wasn't this way we'd all agree, like the same things and not be individuals.i would like people to explain themselves though, thats why i find it really lazy for folks to flounce around spouting 'Oh, genius is so overrated these days!!' I couldnt agree more - but in Jack Whites case, i think he is. I have given my reasons. And if people dont agree, i want reasons. Just lipsynching on my thread with such statements isnt good enough for me. Its pure lazy.
genius is usually a universal term i suppose. Most people agree that Einstein was a genius.
I appreciate that you feel that way cheesy, we don't have to agree though do we?I am very sure that Prince is a genius.
and Bjork

Okay!if people dont agree with me on them, or anything at all, its of little interest to me anyway - i dont care!!

duh, thats obvious.
if anyone wants to give their reasons why they dont think hes a genius, go ahead.
