J McDonnell's EDM "attack poverty, not the poor."

I' m not interested in the LP, i am interested in giving these issues a wider profile, JM is doing that, what are doing in this area?

I'm surprised McDonnel hasn't stood for Mayor of London as an independant left candidate.

It would be an interesting prospect, wasn't he deputyleader of the GLC and fell out with Livingstone over his belief that they should adopt more militant tactics to fight off the Tory offensive on local government?
But for McDonnell to stand as an independent candidate would automatically mean expulsion from the Labour Party

Im an activist in a wide number of fields. The last big stuff I did for the less well off was to try and stop council housing sell off in my area. The Local Labour Party (who fancy themselves as "left wing") took very against me for that and tried to make my life difficult. Meanwhile, JM is an activist for a corrupt reactionary party that treats the poor like shit while taking their votes for granted.

As for giving the issues a wider profile, we never see him outside the pages of The Morning Star and he is almost totally ignored by his own party. That tells you all you need to know. I havent written to my local Labour MP about this EDM because I know him to be 2 faced and he is less allowed to think for himself than he used to be. I might write to a fairly local Libdem who is a good egg.

Some of the Compass M.P's are now talking critically about the demonisation of council tenants and IB claimants, lets hope they sign the EDM.
