I don't know. Without any good pastrami to compare it to, I wouldn't know whether it's moist or salty enough![]()
this is true. you didn't buy it ready sliced from a supermarket did you? it needs to be freshly sliced on the day you get it imo...

Yes, from M&S![]()
there's a decent polish deli in streatham hill, if that isn't too far (on the high road near the streatham fruiterers) which does cracking pastrami. they'll also sell you a nice rye loaf, and the various other ingredients necessary.![]()
it's fermented cabbage, pickled in it's own vinegar i think...
The true pastrami experience involves fresh slices carved off a steaming whole brisket by a surly, elderly counterman who says, "Wadda you mean 'not too fat'? What are you, on a diet or sumt'ing?"
What is a brisket?
yeah you're right - i forgot about that place; it'll sell a good strong sauerkraut too. Minnie lives less than a mile from there but i bet it's too far
Minnie's shopping mantra seems to be:
"this is just not a store conveniently next to Brixton station; this is an M&S store conveniently next to Brixton station"

You have to go to a good deli to get good pastrami.

yea, pretty much the NY style jewish delis do pastami and corned beef the best![]()
