If you only want as much as they're worth to you / you feel you're worth - then 10k? Bonza!

If you want what you're worth to them, though... They've offered you 10k over what you're getting. I'd be amazed if they wouldn't've stretched another 2k, and tbh I'd expect them to've taken that possibility into account with the original offer. Whilst loudly proclaiming my ignorance, I'd be tempted to suggest 2k would be a low ask if you've been headhunted for 10.

But you're clearly happy regardless As would I be

Im currently a facilities manager within a large company- the building we rent space from is undergoing a complete refurb and their buildings manager has resigned.....Ive been dealing with the contractors on site and the landlords for the past two years, so they know me pretty well , But bloody hell i didnt see this coming

The package they are offering me is an extra 10k *faints*

Brilliant! It happened to me once, and even though I never took the job, my self-esteem was at about Cloud 9 height for months.

It sounds like this wasn't just a speculative fishing trip, either: they'd obviously seen what you were up to and found it to their liking. Result! So...are you going for it?

(word of caution: exercise all the usual scepticism about the operation you would if you were looking at the ad in a newspaper - don't let your sense of feeling flattered blind you to any horrible drawbacks...)

I haven't read the whole thread, so apologies if I've just echoed something everyone else has said. Apart from the congratulatory stuff: that's mine, all mine, and I stand by it.

From reading the op I think this is more that a company she has been working alongside have liked her work and wanted to poach her rather than a headhunting company getting in on the act so I don't think that's a concern in this case.
