I've been referred to occupational health

<rubs hands>

:D

You have to be suitably downtrodden and harassed to add that certain something to her return :)

((( eq's boss )))

:D

Oh, I should be able to manage that easily without much additional effort :D

PS clear your pm box, derian, it's full!!

Latest updates:

I told my boss I have to go to the assessment. She was very unimpressed with HR. SHe is going to find out from one of her sources what they are playing at.

I'm incredibly annoyed as I got home tonight to a letter form HR telling me my OH appointment is tomorrow. FUCKING TOMORROW!!!!
I'm mad for several reasons:
1) It's my birthday tomorrow.
2) Due to (1) I booked tomorrow and Friday off from work, three weeks ago, AND told my Head of Section that I wouldn't be in - he being the man who got rung by HR about my OH assessment, and he said he would tell HR I couldn't do those days.
3) I got the letter today, giving me less than 24 hours notice to rearrange MY schedule (which I'm not doing, they can sod off).
4) The letter says 'Please let us know, NO LATER THAN 7 DAYS BEFORE THE DATE OF THE APPOINTMENT, if you can attend or not'.
5) I'll have to phone the University medical practice (which does the OH stuff) to sort it out, and look like I'm mucking them about, which I could do without, seeing as I'm registered there as a patient.

I'm fed up with their inefficiency and complete shiteness.

Derian, help!

There you go :)

Bloody HR departments ;) :D

Hmmm, having HR 'triggers' can be a disadvantage, as in this case where there is a sympathetic boss, but they can also stop unsympathetic bosses as they introduce a common standard...

Derian, help!

Only just seen this - sorry :o

Happy birthday :)

It's a pain - but I guess that you'll just have to ring them and explain why you can't make today's appointment and why. But I really would consider complaining, in the first instance take it up with your boss (not today!) but ask her advice as to whether you should formalise a complaint about HR. They really have been mucking you about and that can't be good for your general health

But today - try and relax and have a good 'un  xx

Update:

My gp actually did my OH assessment yesterday as HE was also fed up of HR being disorganised and shite. It took fifteen minutes, and he basically agreed that nothing can be done to improve the situation (and that this was a bit of farce).

He also showed me the letter that HR sent him detailing my recent absences - two were for migraines, but three were for stomach upsets! I told him this was incorrect and he said that HR don't code absence reasons as accurately as they should (apparently due to a lack of codes) so they lump certain things together. For example, abdominal pain, appendicitis and kidney infection will all be classed together as 'upset stomach'. This means my absence listing makes me look like a complete malingerer when I have been signed off work due to a well documented chronic medical condition!

I am extremely unimpressed and angry with HR over this - does anyone have an appropriate course of action to advise?
