You copy tracks off different cd's to make a mix cd of your own, any tracks you want. It's normally done by ripping the tracks onto your computer then burning the cd from there.

You make a mix CD, using either CD, records, mp3s... make 2 copies of this CD - then send it out to the 2 addresses that will be given to you.

Whilst this may be a crap idea I'll say it anyway -

why not record the compilation and upload it to a file hosting site and then post the link on this thread, then everyone can listen to everyone else's cd.

I have already done a thread about this but I couldn't be arsed to do the compilation to put on it.

You could also do a compilation where everyone contributed a track, on a theme or whatever.

It's been suggested before that this quaint notion of sending little plastic discs to each other is sooooo last century, but the luddite chorus always wins over with the argument that they like having little plastic discs to play with and use as christmas decorations, and they're dammed if any podcast-wielding techno-junkie is going to wean them off traditional music, delivered the way traditional music was meant to be: on little shiny plastic discs.

i'd prefer a CD too, but you could actually upload a zip file with a mix / set of mp3s, artwork, tracklisting etc in one file

Not everyone could though. I certainly couldn't. I'd never even burnt anything to a CD until a month ago either.

I participated in the first two urburns.. but then a terrible thing happened. With the simultaneious birth of my 2nd and 3rd children I failed to send out the discs I was instructed too... I apologised and was rightfully derided and scorned. But was wondering if I had served my sentence and could participate again? I don't mind just sending and not receiving if that will make further amends.
