The weather wrecked the Havant-Brentford game a bit today, but it was good to see ITV giving the Cup and lower league teams the respect of putting it on terrestrial. I never understand why them or the Beeb don't bid to show a Conference game every Sunday afternoon, or bid together to share it.

David Pleat pissed me off though by pronouncing the home team as "Have-Ant".

.

Don't sky have the rights to the conference? I know Setanta have the Blue Square premiere.

They may well do, but nonetheless is there not weight in the idea of the Beeb, ITV, C5 and possibly C4 (if they can remember where they put their sports department) all working together and outbidding Setanta and Murdoch? The same applies to domestic games from other countries or Wales or Ireland. Surely the British public haven't been so conditioned to think the Premiershit is that good?

Our naivety was on display against a very good Wycombe team who showed why they are undefeated in the league this season. It was men against boys stuff and the 4-1 scoreline did not flatter them. Still it was a great night for the club, ground was packed, great atmosphere, the flags at the back of the West Bank and the club looked very professional. All a learning process, onwards and upwards, this season is about getting promotion to the Conference National. Good luck to Wycombe.

Much the same as Mr QofG's reported - good match, great atmosphere, shame about the scoreline.

Plus soup at half time, apparently.

At least we weren't thrashed 7-1, which could have happened had Wycombe stepped up a gear.

I'm not upset at the result. It was always going to be a tall order to go through. At least we didn't look too bad and got a fair amount of revenue out of it. I've never seen the place so packed. The bars & car park area were solid a full hour before kick off.

christ, conceding 2 at home to non-leaguers. It's been a long time since leicester have been convincing. Still 19 goals for matty fryatt this season. Not bad considering he's a bit shit.
