Try Sorbus hupehensis. The birds leave the berries unless it's a really hard winter. They are a beautiful colour too.Got loads of flowers on the rowan too. Think the birds enjoyed the berries last autumn, one day it looked all red and lovely, next day it was bare!!

I got a brief whiff of spunk whilst out cycling this morning. Could that be the rowan or something else?

I can not smell the spunk

I think my rowan tree might be dead as I can not smell the spunk and it is being strangled by lots of ivy!![]()

The smell is the main reason I decided against planting a Rowan.
