It's Dunwich Dynamo Time! (28/29 July)

Yip, I am doing it again although not on fixed again, I couldn't walk for about a day after last time

Anyway, I don't care if it rains tomorrow, this time I'm gonna bring my jacket...last year I didn't think I'd need one & managed to persuade my brother he wouldn't need one either :D

Its really not that difficult btw...you can either go with the racing snakes, or amble along at your own pace....the terrains not particually hilly either, just rolling with a couple of small ones along the way. :)

I think its the mental stamina needed to keep cycling all night/that long that I also need to build up.

never cycled more than 30 miles yet.

good luck again and hope the weather is with you:)

the swim at the end would keep me going. Do you go in the sea?

Yep, it sounds crazy but it is absolutely lovely. We cycled through the rain last year but as we hit the beach the sun came up and we had a lovely morning - quick swim, snoozing on the warm shingle, lovely fish and chips - very memorable.

Good luck tonight everybody. Cycle safely.

Bit gutted I'm not going but see you next year. :o

I'll second that. Cycle safely, particularly riding out of London. And I too will see you next year. :)

Back home safe and sound and completely exhausted. 9pm departure, 25 miles out to Moreton, hopped in to the pub from 11 > midnight. The next 40 miles from Moreton to the feeding station at Great Waldingfield the toughest I have ever ridden - torrential rain, driving headwind, freezing cold - very difficult conditions.

Warmed up at the feeding station around 4am, by the time we left rain had eased and dawn was breaking - lovely 50 mile run into Dunwich, the sun came up, got in around 9am.

Numbers well down on last year, a direct result of weather forecast.

Roll on 2008 - we must be due good weather by now!

Kudos to you LT! Gaijinboy and I were all up for it last year and pulled out due to the weather forecast then.

Yesterday we both did triathlons and although we briefly joked about going on to do Dunwich, we knew we were joking really.

Maybe next year?

I'm well impressed - well done! :)

Nice one LT......must admit I bailed out about 15-20m past the feed station & went to Ipswich to wait for the train.

I got to the feed station at about 1.30ish & it was rammed full so only waited around to mend a puncture.....thought I find somewhere up the road to eat my food, but only suceeded in having another puncture along with my bro.....at this point around 3.30am I just thought fuckit, I was completely wet & knackered & didn't fancy getting to Dunwich to freeze on the beach, so we just detoured to Ipswich instead.

When I said I wasn't worried about the rain earlier, I didn't expect fuckin 7 hours of it :D

Thanks Miss-Shelf - it good for me 'cos I beat at least 2 of the 3 boys I went with (results not finalised).. :D but it's nowhere near the achievement of doing the Dynamo!! :)

Cheers MS, I thought it was sensible decision at the time, but am a bit gutted today, especially as the sun came out after all......

Anyway like you said, always next year & will drag you along as well next time :)
