Capello says:

"I can't stand the rubbish that gets talked about by everyone, players, fans, the media, club officials. Why should I waste my time listening to people who are clearly less intelligent than me?"

I like him already

pfft... the Guardian has a better quote:

Do not expect to see Capello sending on Franny Jeffers the next time Australia come to town. During Milan's money-spinning tour of China at the end of the 1996 season he deployed a three-striker formation in a friendly against a China XI, but then pulled Paolo Di Canio for a midfielder at half-time to protect a 1-0 lead. When Di Canio asked why he cared so much about the result of a friendly, Capello shot back with a barrage of expletives and added: "Your face looks like a penis." Di Canio never played for Milan again.

:D

Wonder why Capello never managed Italy considering his club sucesses:confused:

Interesting report in today's Morning Star:

'Capello's politics have sparked controversy amongst fans too. He praised fascist dictator General Franco as he prepared to take the helm of Real Madrid - the favoured team of Franco's junta - last year.

He said to Italian newspaper La Republica that he admired the "rigorous order" which was the brutal ruler's legacy, although he was forced to back down in the face of ferocious criticism, claiming: "I have never dreamed of praising dictatorships. My father was in a nazi concentration camp."

Capello has also admitted voting for the far-right Italian party Lega Nord, whose officials have proposed segregating immigrants from Italians on public transport and called for "immigrant slackers" to be shot "like hares."'

That is interesting. He stands a good chance of being Hoddled, then.

Although Lega Nord is primarily a regionalist party with a very wide spread of social, political and economic viewpoints represented. There are plenty of northern Italian liberals who resent Rome and the corrupt south.

I read that he can actually speak English (altho not fluently) but prefers to do press conferences in Italian

Yup, when people from most countries tell you they can just speak 'a little' English, it usually means 'considerably better than the average English person's French/Italian/German...'

This'll confuse the tabloids - are they more for him or against him !

Perhaps we should sack him now, just in case.

If it's all true about Fab and his leanings, then bang goes my support for the England team. And WoW's I suspect, and a few others. I was all for Barwick being given free-reign this time (he had a deal with o' Neill but was usurped by committee men. Well not usurped but YKWIM) but employing a fascist sympathiser takes the cake.

Cunt, cunts and cunts, that's it for me I'm afraid. Dorme bien, motherfuckherds.

We don't know about his politics andif it doesn't interfere in his ability to do his job then that is part of being in a free country.

I thought it was horrendous how Hoddle was fired just for a ridiculous religious attitude he had. These things are not important.

Shouldn't be too hard for all the England lads to learn Italian, should it?

Good appointment, but must be an accidental one if that prick Barwick was involved......

Still leaves the problem of having players & media who believe this 'golden generation' bollocks, and a league that doesn't foster & encourage players who could end up in the national team... :(

It matters to me and it should matter to everyone.

However, looking into it further it seems to have been a throwaway line from a right-winger, I may have jumped the gun. I agree with you on the Hoddle thing btw, and Capello's stout Roman C-ism doesn't scare me and should hold no bearing.

You're quite wrong on that, he may look like a fool but he's the only one with brains there.

I'd agree with that myself (about players being arrogant), but that's not what zed meant, or at least not what he said ;)

I meant people involved in English football, including many of the more vociferous supporters. The press are basically just manipulative cunts.

As for you ...you're just an argumentative, pedantic cunt. :)

PS ...I'm English too.

Herm...

He wanted o' Neill or Scolari, and shook hands with Martin privately, but was vetoed by the committee.

All the "McClaren was my first choice" nonsense was political bullshit. I'd assumed everyone knew that by now. Seriously, he's the only brain there.

Fair enough, I know the '1st choice' stuff was all about PR, but how he even held his hand up for McLaren as he must have been 4th choice....

When I've been involved in interviews & selection the first question is always 'can the person do the job?', you weed out candidates rather than set them up to fail. Then you pick between who is left. I just don't get how anyone could have thought McLaren was ever going to succeed...... not just 20/20 hindsight, honest....

Ordinarily you only turn up to slag the England team off. Or to slag dub off :p

Well it's simple, the committee wanted a "yes" man and Barwick wanted an "I'm a cunt" man. The committee won. They have failed to make the same mistake twice, which is unusual for the FA. As I said the bald moustachioed cunt is the only fucker with balls there, hence the Capello appointment. It's all down to him.

He'd have given Clough the job in the '70s man.

Well it's been difficult for you to have gone up in my estimation, but you've managed it :)

However, Capello has surrounded himself with various assistants and one of them's a smoker! Huzzah!

Here endeth the news.

I love all the innuendo and rumours.. apparently his english is better than a large number of brits.. so nothing to worry about there...

Why would they want Shearer, Pierce & Co Ltd amongst a 'thinking' management team?

Has any other England head coach/manager made known his political beliefs?

Was it part of the hatchet job by the red tops?

The guy hasn't even call a team meeting and everyone's on his case. Let's learn from experience and, at least, let the guy select and organise his team

why the hell has he been given 4 1/2 years. He should be given the next world cup and thats it. How many goldern handshakes must be made before the FA realise that they ain't going to stick around for long one way or the other.

Red-tops don't really give a fuck about beliefs, I think it was The Times that exposed Hoddle.

I only heard about his so-called beliefs from here.
