Items of clothing/shoes you really can't stand...

There's something very wrong with criticising an item of clothing on the grounds that it is "pointless". If we stuck to purely functional items that have no alternatives, we'd all be wearing the same thing.

If you don't like city shorts (I'd never heard of them before myself, but there you go) then you don't like them because you don't like them. Saying you don't like them because you could just wear a skirt instead is stoopid.

i wholeheartedly agree with that.

Most of mine have been said, but the mind boggles at....

city shorts
ties on women
men's cardigans
cowboys boots worn with a short skirt on girls that aren't thin (think cowboy boots and short skirts thin)
Pashminas :(

I couldn't get away with cowboy boots and a short skirt. Few can. IMO the wearers need to be thin - the same applies to leather trousers ;)

i hate that bullshit that you have to be a certain size to wear certain things. so someone who is thin automatically looks better in an outfit than someone who isn't? bollocks.

Cardigans are great, because you can leave them unbuttoned or you can button them up. It's all your own damn choice, not the choice of the fascist fashion designer that made it.

Yes, by which I mean those as yet unevolved into skinheads, not the crazed loons who delete psost on t'interwebby board types.
:D

I had thin ties in the late 70s. Not tie pins, though.

But now I'm old, I've come to view ties as pointless flaps of material without function.

This is why they are only suitable for the elderly. Supposed to make them feel empowered and all :p
