Italy V France the denouement!

I imagine that being tripped up (as in Henry's case) has always been a foul.

Tonight's one may have been deemed an acceptable challenge in the past.

I wouldn't say that either incidents involved textbook defending.

Henry's was a blatant dive, a split second after the minimum ammount of contact (you'd have felt more force from a gust of wind). Even 10 years ago the referee would have played on.

What challenge are you refering to? Standing aside with your arms aloft, only for the French player to fall to the ground?

I'm not sure what textbook defending is since weve established that no contact of any sort is allowed in the penalty box. They werent examples of textbook attacking though and clear examples of textbook 'simulation'.

I'm surprised by Italy's game now, I though that they would sit back again but they are going for it!!!!

Great game so far, better than I thought it would be

Am i the only person who thought it kicked off at 8.:o
So what have i missed so far?

No I did too :( but checked on the BBC website, missed the first penalty :(

Totti not playing so well.

After this half I have to start putting my money on Italy, they are really playing alot better than France.....

I've been watching on itv for my sins. 2 points:

1) Who was that blonde French fan in the crowd? :o
2) How long have Vodaphone been using the Only Ones' "Another Girl, Another Planet" to flog their poxy network? A plague on their house!

I did that, missed the first 20 minutes, if I hadn't phoned the UK I'd have mised the whole first half. Italy look the better team to me...

It's probably not their directors calling the shots.

It's them pervy Germans, innit! :)

As far as I know the BBC have no control over which pictures are shown during the match. They get the same feed as everyone else.

ETA The thread's moving too quick

I've only seen her once, streaming from US ABC :(

:( poor you, the ABC commentary sucks, I'm watching CTV Canada and we have English commentary. Much better!

I think the channels have control to show what they want, they will have many options. I'm watching from a US stream and they don't really show any of the build up play from the goals, I know the BBC would.

Mind you, that doesn't really have anything to do with hot french bloneds in the crowd :)

Not true matey. The BBC and ITV too, are under the control of those dictatorial Germans ;)
