IT helpdesk jargon

You forgot: User interface error

Usually when the user is just a fucknut and you don't want to say so :)

i cant thank you all enough! especially you chris, what a star. you are obv. a bit of an expert in this area... to be honest they arent expecting me to know huge amounts about the whole thing, as an analyst of backdata it may even be a benefit for me not to have too many pre-conceptions about what the likely problems/issues/things to report are.... still, up to now knowing the diff. between response and resolution was about the max of my high speed service providing knowledge!

just got back from the interview, and want to take this opportunity to gush somewhat about how much help this thread was and how proud you would have been if you could have seen me blag my little cotton socks off!

oh yes, i threw in all the acronyms, i quoted the netpromoter score for first direct, i dropped in references to remedy and ITIL and crystal reporting.... and i'm pretty sure the bloke loved me!

i'll let you all know next week whether i got the job, but i must just say right now that you've made it a whole lot more likely. my cv said 'knows nothing about support desks' my banter and answers to his questions said 'actually yes i do'.

touch.

i dont like remedy...

my favourite bit of Service desk software that integrated with other ITIL functions was Axios Assyst.
