Insecure because a child, or childish because insecure?

That is the question.

As usual, you either don't make any sense or you're talking out of your arse. Which is it, dullard?

This really is like being savaged by a dead cat. :D

Lay off the pot: it clearly isn't helping you.

The question has been answered.

I think you will both find that L&L began this at post #13.

Has he actually contributed anything at all to this thread? No.

How does post #27 fit into your theory, I wonder.

Also I think that the following is an insightful contribution, though I can understand if you see it differently:

"I am continually amazed at your propensity for describing yourself when attacking others, nasty nino."

I don't care who started it. Now I'm taking these toys away from you until you've calmed down. Go tidy your rooms.

I've said it happens once-in-a-while. I've also said it is illegal. It isn't something that happens all the time.

I'm presuming that "once in a while" means the same thing your side of the pond that it does over here, i.e. that it does happen (which is exactly what I said, no more no less)? :)

Right. I just wanted to be accurate and not overplay how often patient dumping occurs. It would be inaccurate to deny that it exists. It would be equally inaccurate to say that everyone involved in a accident that doesn't have insurance will be left to die in the street. There are lots of charity hospitals that specialize in taking care of the poor. Where patient dumping occurs is in for-profit hospitals. We definitely need some rethinking on how healthcare is managed and paid for in the US.

Indeed and there is more than enough money to pay for it. There is a great deal of greed on the part of practitioners and the companies who specialise in healthcare, making it not so much a service as an industry.

On the subject of charity hospitals, I was reading something earlier today about a threat to the charitable status of some as they're not racking up enough charity cases. Any idea what that's about? I'm afraid your healthcare system confuses and depresses me.

I'm not certain why that would be.

We lost a charity hosptial here because it was owned by the city and one of the for-profit hospitals offered to buy it and privitize. There is so much money in health care that they could buy it outright and make a huge profit. They paid the city some money that was used to build a free clinic.

Me too. When my brother was sick we had a socialworker who helped us line-up the care he needed. She lined up hospice care and helped us apply for Social Security disability. We got disability arranged in record time. I think it was only two weeks. It was nice to have someone who helped us wade through it. Even so, my mother and I ended up paying a lot of the bills out of our own pockets to make sure he got care.
