Israel, what have you done?

Belief is immaterial. Knowledge is what is important.

Yes indeed. But when propaganda buries the knowledge, then they can't know, they can only believe.

Which is not conducive to a peaceful world!

Does anyone stand for anything around here? No one holds any core beliefs regarding international relations, foreign affairs?

Its very pathetic.

Well, let's start by having your beliefs on foreign affairs and international relations.

Do you believe that the US government was right to attack Afghanistan rather than the Saudis, given the reported nationality of the hijackers?

Do you believe that the US had the right to act in Iraq without UN sanction, given that, even at the time, people knew that their so-called 'evidence' was phony, and that they pulled out the weapons inspectors to do so?

Do you believe that supplying weapons to Israel, and not demanding a ceasefire from israel, was in the best interests of the American people?

Do you believe that it's OK for the US to already have plans for regime change in Cuba, whether the people want it or not?

Your posts seem to lead one to believe that the US has some right to impose its pax americana anywhere in the rest of the world, especially the ME, and just kill the people who don't like their country being taken over by the so called 'forces of democracy'.

How far can american hubris really take you? Are you happy to be the world's most hated nation as long as you can steal the resources of weaker countries by force? Seems to me that the US cares only for cash, at the expense of humanity and conscience. The concepts of 'good' and 'evil' have been so hijacked by your president that they are now virtually meaningless. 'Good' is any country that can be persuaded, even against the wishes of its population, to go along with US plans for the New World Order. 'Evil' is the rest of the world.

Zamb... i might add that all bush has done is to put into the open the kinds of things that american leaders have been doing for decades.

It's not like they've suddenly become cash hungry, war-crazy, power-mad hegnemonic people under bush. They've been like this for a long time now. But previously the leaders didn't just do it all so brazenly. Bush just decided to stick two fingers up to the world very early on in his presidency, before 911 even, and the world just accepted this.

It doesn't help that britain, china, russia, and france let them do this.

What bush has done, and it's a service to the future of humanity, is show increasing amounts of people all over the world the real american psyche and mindset. It's ugly, it's violent, it's power-mad, it's consumption-driven, it's obsessed over being famous, it's insane.

They are just the most appalling example of how to be human.

Love peace and respect towards all other humans, and nations. The first is an individual ethos to life, the latter for our leaders.

Unfortunately the US, and UK to a lesser extent, wage a perpetual war in order to get peace. So they tell us. Can you not see the idiocy behind that? Can you not see that if we're all happy we'll have no need of these leaders?

They keep telling us that they have to invade and bomb countries in order to provide peace. War will bring peace!!

I want international relations built around the principle of one world one people, around a perpetual seeking of peace, not war. This can only happen when the peoples find a way to avoid being exposed to the disgusting propaganda that your leaders, and mine, perpetuate through their obliging organ, the mass media.

Peace is what i want, not war after war after war. One world, one people please.

Mears, what Fela said.

I too was born in the '50s; one of the first 'realities' I too as a growing up child learned of the Holocaust against "people considered to be Jewish". I wept for Anne Frank. I despise Nazis and racism with all my heart.

But I also now despise the Israeli state. I want to see it destroyed. That's not to call for mass murder or anything. I want to see the abolition of the state of Israel in much the same way as I support the abolition of Ulster. A protestant state for a protestant people is the same kind of effrontery as a zionist state for jewish people.

Hundreds and hundreds of years old (not 50) and a completely different situation.

How did the British government react when 2 soilders were kidnapped and murdered by the IRA? They certainly didn't bomb the fuck out of Eire for a month solid. Israel is an evil, evil state. Comparing it to Ulster is very offensive.
