Israel to cancel West Bank pull out

But it is my view that if the American public opinion turns drastically away from the policies of the neo-conservatives, as there are already signs it may be doing, then it will be another crowd controlling the White House, quite possibly far less well-disposed towards the Zionist point of view.

You've got a cheek, L&L, introducing content into your posts. You won't get away with it.

You weren't around when I established my general points of view. I've never felt inclined to repeat it all just for noobies.

Anyway you never read anything outside the Mid-East forum, so how you can know anything about most of my posts is a bit of a mystery to me.

I wasn't around when Bjorn Borg could play tennis either, so you'll forgive me if I say that he doesn't.

I'm only interested in the Middle East forum. The Middle East is the cradle of our future.

Unfortunately I can't see that happening as long as both parties in the US occupy the same political ground, and as long as US realpolitik requires a beachhead in the eastern med.

It'd be great if altruism did win out, and the White House and Washington was occupied by people who wanted to make a difference for ALL rather than for a few, but I'm not going to wager that it will happen in my lifetime.

I thought I'd imagined this as a late news item on the BBC tonight, but no, apparently not. First story I found:

Eh? My immediate understanding of this is that after a terrible war in which they wrought inexcusable destruction across Lebanon, the Israeli political forces - or the public? - have decided that particular attempt to appear complete cunts wasn't bearing enough fruit and that they'd have to try harder and screw someone else over...

Who understands the thinking behind this then?

onward christian soldiers, marching as to war...

mostly messzionists, i would imagine

It was a temporary action , as Olmert is far too weak politically right now with most Israelis considering him a poor leader. they wanted more aggrewssiveness in Lebanon and ionstead got nothing much. Kadmimah WILL triumph though, math dictates it. There is not other real option.

Kadima is no different to Likud and was only formed because Sharon couldn't get his own way.

Kadima is just as racist, reactionary and nationalistic as any inheritor of Jabotinsky's ideas would be.
