Isn't it great when you find a pub...

...that serves a magnificent Sunday roast. :)

Not just nice, but actually as good if not better than you'd get at home, and that was coming from Mrs.Griff who is a pretty good cook.

A Sunday roast washed down with a rather tasty real ale which I'd never heard from served from great big kegs at the back.

The pork was absolutely wonderful and the vegetables which included red-cabbage were cooked to perfection.

Talk about full-up. It had to be one of the nicest eat-outs I've ever had and for the great price of £8.95 per person.

Going back again on Sunday.

A lovely little pub just outside of Saffron Walden in Little Walden called The Crown. :)

Looks a bit far for me these days. Looks nice though.

Going to try The Crown one evening as they do some lovely looking pies and is only a 10 minute drive away. But looking forward to going back Sunday. It was popular with ramblers and had the porch packed with muddy boots.

We managed to get the last table for two at around 12.30, so booking up a table is advisable. They also keep the tables reserved all day, so there's none of that rush. Lovely place with a great atmosphere. :)

The crackling that came with the pork was the size of my mobile.

I went for the first time to The Bishop in Dulwich last Sunday and the roast dinner was brilliant.

Yes, it's great when that happens :)

& crap when it doesn't. Tried a pub in our village a couple of months back which had new owners, and this really spaced out plate came out with 1 and half baked potatos a few peas, a little bit of pork, some swede and a couple of bits of frozen veg.

This is how we looked after that one. ----> :(

Well that was even better than last week. Stuffed again. :)

Boathouse was the rather lovely ale served.
