On this basis you could say a fear of Christians is justified since they have been implicated in a fuckload of wars.

And I'd bet all of the cases you quote a lot more muslims have been killed in revenge attacks.

'The left' is losing badly because there is no organised left. They're not really losing badly. They're not even in the game. It doesn't actually exist except in the minds of a few sectarians. The reasons for that are a wee bit complex and do no belong on a thread about islamophobia.

The fascists are doing well because there is a high degree of economic insecurity and low social mobility and certain of the people suffering from that hate immigrants for all the usual reasons that they hate immigrants at times of economic insecurity and low social mobility.

I *thought* it was about immigration. Pretty low of you to reel off a list of right wing press excuses for islamophobia in order to make your point about immigration being bad *yet again*, on a thread that's pretending not to be about that.

for many muslims in e.g lebanon a fear of christians would have a real basis in fact and in afghanistan too
