Islam4UK and the March for Sharia Oct 31st

Like they're exactly the same.

Would you defend someone from racist attack without condition or would you question them on their attitude to women, gays etc before lifting a finger?

if it was random, without thought mate .. where i am there are many fundies of diff religions and i would almost always defend them with NO preconditions form random assault, and yet I and most other people hate many parts of their various religions.

HOWEVER, and as you say it is complicated ;) IF a xtian, or jewish, rasta or muslim fundy is on a soapbox saying gays should go to hell or be beheaded and a young gay man or woman starts attacking them what would YOU do?? and yes it would again probabaly depend .. is the person some old nutter or part of a militant aggressive grouping like S4UK

so there are no easy answers and we are making it up as we go along at the minute but it is good we are doing so ;)

interesting question on Indymedia; if S4UK march and EDL whoever threaten to disrupt will SWP/UAF defend S4UK as they did the Iranian Al Quds march??

is that what happened? :hmm:

Did SWP/UAF defend S4UK on the Al Quds march?
EDL mingled with Iranian counter-demonstrators on that day (because the police put them in the same contained area at Piccadilly - twice.

The 'Stop the BNP' demo was held away from the Al Quds march and the Iranian/EDL counter-protestors, and couldn't be seen to be defending the Al Quds march in any way - it's focus was on the BNP elements of EDL.

The Al Quds march was then marched past the EDL/Iranian counter-protestors. The EDL shouted 'No Sharia' and 'Muslim bombers off our streets' whilst waving flags of Israel, England and the Union Jack. The Iranian Democrat counter-protestors shook their fists, waved their flags and posters. After the march had passed on it's way to Waterloo Place, the EDL were escorted down Shaftesbury Avenue, away from the Al Quds march assembly point.

So where did the UAF defend the Al Quds march? They never saw either the march, or the EDL.

They were there to protest against the BNP elements of EDL, and were not defending the Al Quds march.

Bring proof to the table for your assertion, and a link to Harry's Place opinion will not suffice

Defend?
Physical confrontation is hardly their style, and anyway, they were there to barrack the rightists, not to "defend" anyone. I strongly suspect that they'd be unable to "defend" even themselves against a class full of junior-school kids, let alone defend an entire march.

You should n't believe everything you read from "that" website, durutti, or we'll have to start calling you Zachor. :)

Ah, you noticed that the only place where such a claim has been made about UAF "defending" (a laughable concept in itself) was "that" website too, eh? ;)

no that was from them (SWP) VP not the EDL or other muppets .. they said they were not on the march to neccessarilly support it but to defend it from attack by EDL etc .. and yes of course they could not defend jack shite as you so rightly say
