friedaweed is yer man for this. Last time round he did the honours by helpfully previewing each match with a visual depiction encapsulating everything each country represents. They were complex, vivid works that cut to the core of the very idea of cultural identity. For example, a sausage vs a beret would signify Germany vs France.

I do hope he'll do the honours again this time round.

Our local is draped in England flags and there's a big Rovers St George Cross down the road.
It's nice that people get excited about our involvement in the greatest show on Earth. Wouldn't like to be from somewhere that hadn't even qualified for decades

Seems to be the same level of interest here although I'm not in England so might be different there. Might be the fact that England have an average team in a tough group in a country whose climate doesn't suit them. Basically you are fucked and everyone knows it in previous tournaments there was always some glimmer of hope to cling to. Just not happening here.

Of course if you bastards end up winning it feel free to QFP.
