The general feeling seems to be that if Roman Abramovich had just been a bit over eager at the bingo hall or something instead a few years ago then the English league would really be quite exciting, and I think I'd definitely go along with that.
Without Chelsea, Man Utd would now have a five point gap with a game in hand and eight games to go. Not exactly romping home but I think Liverpool would still be their nearest challengers and Chelsea would now be somewhere between Spurs and Arsenal. To me that's just one ridiculously rich team instead of another.

Oh I don't deny there's room for improvement, especially in the distribution of cash (split all TV and sponsorship money equally 20 ways for one), but I think some of the excitement is perhaps subconcious because in reality second and fourth place shouldn't be the holy grails. However, seventeenth to nineteenth is shaping up to be another humdinger.

The very idea that two such hiorribly average teams like Blackbrun and Bolton are up fighting for a European spot provides vague amusement.
blackburn and bolton have been really good to watch this season - they're not "average" anymore. bolton have started to play nice football, building on Alladyce's "ugly" defensive approach of the past few years, whereas blackburn must be one of the most improved teams in the prem. i've really enjoyed watching players like Morten Gamst Pederson, Stelios and Kevin Nolan this season

question is - what kind of premiership do we want?

one where 10 teams are competing for the title until the last game of the season? if so, some of the financial disparities need to be ironed out - and not just between teams in the prem, but between the divisions too.

14 years ago we were sold the "premiership dream" - do we think it's working out?
