Goalkeeping is an issue of course, but full strength player for player we are a decent outfit.
Our domestic teams with English players regularly do well in European football, its the way the side is nitted not the players we can sabotage to make English. Even with Ronaldhino it still wouldn't make us instant world beaters.
We need a solid team not individuals.
International football is totally different from week in week out league football. A great English player for Chelsea may not be able to adapt to an international game thrown in with players he isn't used to playing with. Great players, eg. Owen and Shearer who can consistently produce goals at both standards are hard to find. Even the much adored Rooney doesn't exactly band em in, he's got a worse strike record than a player who is technically nowhere as gifted in Crouch.
