Is there anyone on this site who doesn't love In Bruges?

miaow!!

as you may not know, Danny is an keen viewer of I'm a Celebrity..so i don't think you're anywhere near bang on the money with that remark Johnny. :D

I just can't imagine anyone not finding Blues Brothers funny. Someone who didn't, it makes me think of someone who's had a king size fitted sheet shoved all the way up their butt or something.

There's some great music, and James Brown is of course fantastic.

Actually the leaping in the air is the most humorous bit in the whole film. But that's more of a slight inward smile rather than an actual laugh.

I don't care if you bellylaugh or smile, the epiphany of Jake and Elwood, and their physical gyrations, are humourous. The scene as a whole is fantastic.

Depends if you thought American Gladiators was 'good' or 'clever' I suppose?

What was described, sounded more like Fear Factor.

The original American Gladiators was pretty good, but not that clever. The new one with the Hulk, is like Gladiators on steroids, if one can imagine such a thing.

I love Blues Brothers, watched it the other week cos I was showing it to my girlfriend for the first time. I was worried it would be dated but it still holds up, there's some genuinely really funny bits in it. The "nately's whore" woman with the bazooka etc is a good source of funnies.

I watched this film several months back after seeing it recommended on here. I was never going to bother because I'd been put off by what I now recognise to be possibly the worst advertising campaign of all time - completely misrepresented what kind of film it was.

Anyway, I've yet to see anyone on here or know anyone off here who has watched it and not raved about it. Most people stick it straight in their top 20 etc.

Who will be brave?

Loved it too.:)

I never really got Blues Brothers either.

I should revisit to see if my brain has changed, must be twenty years since I watched it. People raved about it and quoted that "we're wearing sunglasses" line a lot, I felt let down though.

Whereas Lebowski lived up to the pseudo-hype.

It's a bit of fun. I liked it when I was 11, my 11 year old likes it now - great music/cameos/car chases.

I wouldn't say it is especially funny...just fun.

It's an enjoyable movie - mostly for the music and cameos - but there are no actual jokes and it's never made me laugh
I'm just surprised to see it held up (by Johnny) as an example of American comedy. There's a lot of very funny American comedy, so I'm a bit mystified as to why this was picked out.

Well what I meant was students might go around quoting it.

Time will tell.

I'm not a student anymore, but still looking for the opportunity to say "I want a normal gun for a normal person".:D

So far on a shopping trip I've managed "I want a normal jumper for a normal person". :(
