Is there anyone on this site who doesn't love In Bruges?

But Sexy Beast has the very evil Ben Kingsley and the equally alarming (and surprising) Ian McShane.

I've just looked it up. It's got Colin Farrell and Ralph Feines.

It's going to have to have a lot going for it to overcome that.

During his first job, fledgling contract killer Ray accidentally kills a young boy.

That doesn't sound very funny.

Its not looking good so far.

Honestly, I doubt you could find someone who disliked Colin Farrell more than me before I watched this film but he totally won me round. I found him to be very, very likeable in this film - he has all the funniest lines.

Ralph Fiennes has funny lines too. Honestly, it's mega.

I enjoyed it, having watched a while ago without having seen any of the hype at all. I just got it out of Blockbusters based on the fact that it was in Bruges, and I was there relatively recently!

As others have said, it is a good film. I wouldn't put in my top 20, though, and I am not sure I will bother to watch it again. It has some interesting deleted scenes, one of which in particular, should have been in the film, imho. I think it was probably not included because it was too bloody! :D

Did you find Blues Brothers, for example, to be funny, even though it has 'American' humour in it?

I don't just mean that movie, but any american comedy.

Me personally? I love American humour. I don't "get" a lot of what is supposed to be British humour. I don't know whether In Bruges is British humour or not, but it is certainly dark humour, so would, presumably, not be to everyone's taste.

I'm fine with dark humour well done. Blood Simple is one of my favourite films.
