Is there any way to get cheap Sky?

The SKY+ box is an excellent piece of kit. Completely changes your TV watching habit.

I hate SKY btw, but if you are going to get it then SKY+ is the way.

If you are an existing sky subscriber and don't have a sky+ box, call them and get one. Tell them that your buddy down the road got one for free and you want one.

And that you are thinking of defecting to Virgin because you've heard their new boxes are really good. This would of course be lunacy if it were true but they don't know that.

^ this is something you should do once a year anyway, they will always give you somethign to keep them. Normally 3 months sky sports.

Just found this in another forum, pls remove if breaking the rules.

I have a refer a friend token for Sky which entitles all new customers to Sky to get a free Sky Plus Box as part of their deal. For refering the "friend" I also get a free Sky Plus Box. So its a win win.

So if anyone wants the code and details let me know.

Obviously not suggesting you contact him, I couldn't find this offer online. Does anyone else know anything about it?

I don't think the offer is on at the moment - haven't had anything about it. Usually they do an offer where you recommend a friend who gets a free sky+ box and you get £50 M&S vouchers which is pretty good :)

I think Sky is a really cheap deal at the moment.

I'm just not sure there's room for £60 on Sky, when Freeview is perfectly good apart from for football!

Seriously though you need sky+ if you're going to be spending lots of nights in. I only have one 'mix' and have loads more channels than freeview, plus can record all the cool films that are on late at night.

Why do you need the expensive broadband? I use the free one and it is absolutely fine.

If you just get one mix, sports and the free broad band I think it's about £36?

I have the basic Sky package - knowledge and entertainment mix, costs £17 a month.

I also do not like paying Murdoch and so watch the footie over the internet, its easy and while the quality isn't as good I'm not paying an extra £45 to shitface.

As a Sky subscriber you can get Sky+ as a oneoff £99, which IS worth it as everyone has said.

Not live football, which is the main driver for me getting it.

Hang on, you can watch live football over the internet though, see my post above, I only pay £17 to Murdoch and get my footie over the internet.

Can supply link if required. Got it off here though so many folk should know. (Only Prem by the way, not Championship games, but other Euro leagues as well).

Yeah, pm me the link... if it's sopcast and the like that you refer to, then yeah, it's ok... but I'd prefer the real deal. If it's something new then wicked

Also, Championship games that are live on Sky get featured on Guangdong Sports... Cantonese commentary though, of course.

we've just signed up to see, surf, speak thing with 3 tv packages and it's £24 a month, plus sky+ box at £99 (which is utterly fantastic).

just got letter today saying we will have 2 week trial of free movies, sport etc, so you could come and stay at ours for a fortnight? :)
