Since it has already been stated, almost, by mmm_, I shall elaborate a little further. The article I have (US News Source) says that he was arrested and is being investigated. For what I am not sure, but just for the pleasure of it, I did not post the rumour, it was mmm_.
The odd thing was that I could find no UK source for this, which is normally the case when there are things going on, or maybe I didn't look hard enough.

sky sports were reporting yesterday that finnan had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. [Ironically perhaps, this item came straight after news items about a) george best being arrested for allegedly molesting a girl under 13, b) van persie being arrested for rape, and c) the kewell and linekar libel case - are they short of real football news or what? Or maybe summer is just the silly season for the less intelligent footer player....]
