I get your point Mac. Now answer why you havent been successful outside the LP.

In the last three years we have had Socialist Party councillors elected in Coventry and Lewisham, in London.

We also support other genuine socialists and anti-cuts and anti-privatisation candidates.

At the same time we campaign for the founding of a new party – that brings together forces such as socialists, trade unionists and the anti-war movement – and puts forward a programme for the millions instead of the millionaires.

The trade unions in Britain donate millions of pounds to New Labour every year – yet it doesn’t buy them one penny’s worth of influence with the government.

We argue it would be far better to use that money to begin to build a new party.

All very good but you are tiny.Your membership and influence seem to be moving at a snails pace. I fear that you are not viewed, by workers, as credible.

How would TU money suddenly transform this?

Sounds like you are in permanent opposition to your party except for election times when no doubt you are out on the knocker saying vote for the party who attacked your pension?

Permanent opposition? It certainly has seemed like it over the last few years. I'm still not ready to throw in the towel and let them do what they like in my area. Our CLP GC is pretty finely balanced between Blairites and socialists.
