No it's not.

I'm saying unless you have close acquaintance with an area, having not personally heard of something in that area is not a plausible grounds for disbelief in its existence. It's the epistemic fallacy: the reduction of what is to what is known.

There may be other reasons for disbelief. My disbelief in UFOs in grounded in a belief in a solar system unpopulated by alien life forms who visit people at night. Not because I've looked for them and not found them.
