Is Lost worth sticking with? No spoilers please

Is it worth sticking with? Are others bored with it yet?

No and yes.

After being quite intrigued by this programme, I've given up watching it entirely. Last night I ddidn;t even remember it was on, that's how much it has gripped me.

throwing the drugs on the fire was really stupid, he should have given them to the doc

heroin is an excellent analgesic and the next time someone gets mauled by a wild boar they'll only have the power of the mind for pain relief

How would the doc have administered the heroin? AFAIK if you eat it, the stomach acid destroy it before it can reach the bloodstream.

Me and Mrs Greenman were cringing under the sofa at the excruciatingly cheesy and heavily telegraphed moth and 'three asks' stuff last night! ;)
Nevertheless, still mildly engaging in a kind of "which bit of heavy handed symbolism or cliche are they going to chuck in next?" sort of way. (But then I'm a symbolism/allegory/reference spotter, like a trainspotter with Larousse, Bulfinch and a concordance ;) )
Mrs G found the Noel/Liam scenario funny too.

Then what do you do next week? Either you start watching every week at 11 instead of 10 or you wait two weeks to catch up. I just don't see the point of "flipping your telebox" and being "slipped what's next"

I watch each episode twice. Once at 11pm on E4, and then the following week at 10pm on Channel 4, when I find that I missed loads the first time.

One week, I even watched the Channel 4 one on Friday, and the E4 one on Sunday.

Each episode is on 4 times in total :)

sprinkle it on some silver foil, light a match underneath and suck up the smoke in a rolled up cardboard tube?

failing that snorted it

Thats what the flashbacks are for

Sems like there is very little plot at the moment and the tree knocking down thing has disappeared , but I'm downloading all the episodes at the moment so I may watch them in one big stint to see if it improves !

i've stopped reading the lost threads because i can't trust you bastards not to spoil it for me - i haven't even read this thread.

mods - please unsubscribe me immediately.

however i didn't just pop in to spew random abuse - :p - i just wanted to say that i saw an import dvd of the first series of lost in soho today for fifty quid and i was sorely tempted.

don't bother replying to this because i won't read it.

i'm fucking hooked. i love it.

 :p

I saw the whole thing in about 2 weeks, so i must have liked it. BUT it is plagued by a frustratingly sense of not being nearly as good as it should be. Somethings missing.

If your prepared to overlook its weaknesses, your in for a good story with (eventually) some nice plot development & twisting, but it does take that little bit of effort - all the way through. imo.

If, several episodes in your having to ask whether its worth the effort, you'll must be enjoying it less than i did - therefore you should probably leave it and spend your (considerable) time on something else. Some people like to be swept up in populist hype, others dont.

I managed to watch all of about 30 seconds of the first episode - seemed to be all these good looking, stubbly, sweaty over-tanned people (with obligatory grease/scratch/scar on cheekbone) being all serious etc so I thought "Oh, it's 24 except on a fucking island or something" and that was the end of that.

Like a fucking big advert for something - but I can't quite put my finger on what they're trying to sell - a bit like a Diesel advert but they tactfully avoid mentioning clothes.

I think it's fucking brilliant, and I don't watch much soap-ish drama from the USA.

So watch it and make your own mind up.

I do loves the murdering lady with the nice posture though.

Whatever her name is, I forget.

She's keen on the doctor-bloke who looks like Adam Sandler though.

What's Said going to find???

What the fuck is that monster thing???

It's all good baby... I loves LOST I does.

Best thing Channel 4 has got in years.

And you will all be pleased to know that the Second Season of Lost began filming in July and will be airing in the states starting in a few weeks..... In as much as I have two clients who work on the series keep watching....it helps pay my bills  and gives me a really good excuse to travel to Hawaii 4 times a year ;)

We've seen the whole series -downloaded it - and from episode 5 to about 12 is a fairly steady pace (still intrigue though, but set's up the characters more for the events to happen in the fairly interlocking way it seems to need to be, for the questions and answers that arrive later on), things get more and more mysterious than you can possibly imagine!

There's talk of fate later on and this seems to be one reason why the people on the island are there and who they are and what is happening to them....although only some on the island would agree and maybe you wouldn't. You are still left with big questions about some of the characters, some things that are set up in flash backs, some things that are there all the way through and some you just have suspicions about. You can start trying to work out the grand scheme of things, but this only leaves you with more questions and more suspense. By the end of series one, if you are still watching, then you probably won't be able to wait for series two without busting a blood vessel. Unfotunately it'll be one a week even if you do start downloading them :(

I love lost

I've seen them use lighters and tin foil wouldn't be that difficult top find...
That said I'm sure he was snorting it

Someone got there before me :)
And i loved the Oasis stylee band too :)

The episode with the fat bloke in it is very good. Should be coming up soon. Also the island plot thickens considerably. Definatley worth sticking with. 1st seasons always go a bit rubbish at times, 2nd seasons are always better! The next season of Lost, apparently, begins about 30 seconds after the end of season one, story-wise that is. :D

s'okay Nate - that's not a spoiler. That's a given - didn't like your Locke theory though... we gotta get there on our own, dammit. :p

So now I know it doesn't even resolve itself at the end. Even less reason to watch it!

Doublely so as we have to wait a year to see it on C4. I know there is that bit torrent thing, but I am a bit of a luddite when it comes to that.

To be fair I think everyone knew there was going to be more than one season, especially given the expense of the show...
I doubt C4 will wait a year to show it however.
When it comes out on DVD I'm sure you'll be able to rent a copy of the first season at the video store :)

lot's of copies will be doing the rounds. New season starts very soon for those who download.

The thing about it being a cliffhanger is part of the whole draw of the series. If it had proper endings, no one would watch, or want to watch.

HUGE SPOILER>>>

Worth sticking with... Hell yeah ;)

I wouldn't necessarily put much faith in second series always being better then the first as far as this particular show is concerned... it's made by JJ Abrams of Alias fame, and, in my very humble opinion, while the first series of Alias was fucking genius, the second was a big pile of poo, and I gave up watching it, but have heard it only got worse and worse.

I watched a Lost episode from a few weeks back that I'd videoed, got all excited and into it again, went to watch the next episode, and discovered it hadn't recorded. Doi!!
