Is Lost going to be an anti-climax? (no spoilers please!)

The flashbacks are a very important part of the plot, cause apparently they are all linked in some way and the flashbacks are clues towards that linkage.

Yes, everyone seems to be there for a reason which is explained in the flashbacks. There are so many possible theories and I think this is why Lost is so enjoyable. You get to be a bit of an armchair sleuth. It's not obvious what is going on (unlike some TV shows where you can see the ending comming a mile off)

Each time you come up with a theory its dashed by some new plotline (ie I thought Danelle was barking and there was no others and the twist is that is was just her all along, marooned or something. But then "they" came and snatched the boy - but was it "them"? So many possiblilities...)

They knew that creepy Walt was on the raft, and that was who they were after, innit!

So why did they wait? They had 23 weeks to abduct him and there was many times when he wandered off on his own (usually looking for his dog)

I cannot wait till my other gets home tonight and I finish Uni as I have Season 2 episode 1 lined up on my video iPod with TV out! So no crouching by the computer moniter for me!

i thought it was fab - but i never expected or evn wanted revelations... i'm quite happy watching the small stories play out.

i have one issue - opening the hatch was to hide from the Others... but blowing off the door hardly leaves them untrouchable.

anyway - lots happened last night... we saw the monster ffs! (that's what that black cgi dust was, right?).

maybe i'm naive but i dont think th Others are paedophiles - i think they're slavers.

omg! is sawyer dead?

i don't think the others live on the island full time.

i dont think that 'smoke' was the monster. Tbh its bugging me not seeing the damn thing. I like to feel im there with the characters to a degree, so when they see the monster i want to see the monster.
All well and good limiting it to a rustling of trees here and a roar there early on, but last night when Locke looked up at it, i think it was a cop out not showing it to us.

i keep thinking the writer hasn't got a fucking clue whats going on or how to end it all and is just making it up week by week.

Was there ever a 'proper' end to Alias?

Don't hold your breath on this one, but in a recent interview JJ Abrams reckons they've got about 10 years worth of material for this...

see, much as i think its passable entertainment, there's no fucking way i'm sticking with it past next season if it carries on like this.

Didn't Locke see it in an early episode too? He just smiled at it though, and he was fine?

yeah, i think they've seen it a few times. no-one seems particularly scared by it though.
As a result neither am i.

and it sounds like it runs off a little diesel engine - which might explain the black cgi pixie dust :D

:D that's what the wife said last night.
"is he being dragged along by a lawnmower or something?"

No - the black stuff wasn't the 'monster', perhaps something separate. Locke is the only one who has seen the clanky meccano ;) monster and survived. Perhaps that's something to do with how he has confronted his fears about the use of his legs again? dunno  I'm not too annoyed that is hasn't all played out or resolved much; still enjoyable. Some great episodes to come in Season 2...but some slower boring ones as well...up and down...yah de yadda....

too right! So what if there's the material for 10 more seasons, don't they realise people get bored after a while. Take the West Wing, I loved the first 3 series but then I rapidly lost interest.

Unsurprisingly, no.

Currently we're on series 5, and as always it's very hit and miss. When Alias is good its really good and when it's shit, etc.

Currently, it's pretty shit, but i still watch it

i dunno what it was, but it looked a bit like this:

[look for the swooping thing in the top right hand corner]

I've seen that little loopd animation before, but i don't remember seeing it on the actual footage, though don't have series one on my pc anymore so i can't check.

I never noticed that "swooping thing" :(

Hmm, could it be the same 'swoping thing' that appeared in the pilot just before the bloke gets sucked into the still spinning turbofan engine?
